Mission & Vision

Camp Engies is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led camp, created by women in engineering for our future women in engineering.

Despite genuine efforts and programs over the past 15 years, the percentage of women in Engineering in Canada remains around 20% (Figure 1). Our aim is to promote Engineering to females in grade 5 through grade 8.

Camp Engies works to establish interest in the engineering sciences through fun and interactive activities and games, and especially through the long-lasting friendships and mentorships that are gained through the youth camp experience.

In addition to our team of volunteers, Camp Engies invites influential female guest speakers from academics and industry to share their stories with campers. Learn more about the speakers that have presented at our camp.

"Although a variety of amazing women-in-engineering programs currently exist, Cassondra started Camp Engies to pique girl’s interest in engineering at an earlier age within a unique, focused atmosphere. She believed that by targeting girls in grades 5 through 8 and introducing them to phenomenal women in engineering she could disprove the idea that math and science are difficult and boring before the myth took root!"

Camp Engineering Inc. is a Not-For-Profit organization where each counsellor and speaker is a volunteers. It took a special group of women, especially working engineers, to help me turn my dream into a reality. My vision and passion for this event turned into a shared vision; I hope your daughter's associate engineering with everyday life, fun and and amazing role models!
